If you’re struggling with debt, it can be hard to know where to turn. But with lots of free advice services available across the UK, you can find help in a way that’s best for you.
Maximising your income is about both securing extra income from any available sources, and making your money go further by identifying savings wherever possible.
If you cannot complete an online benefits check you can contact Citizens Advice Shropshire for support. You may also be able to get support from Severn Trent.

Citizens Advice Shropshire Debt Advice

This service is for Shropshire residents, they can provide advice on managing money and dealing with debt. They will help you out along the way, explaining your options and speaking to your creditors.

StepChange

Whether you get help online or by calling StepChange, the process is the same. They recommend ways to deal with your debts, based on what you have told them about your situation.
Both their online debt advice tool and advisors guide you through the session. If you need more time, you can pause and go back later.

National Debtline

National Debtline are a registered charity providing free, impartial, expert debt advice to more than 100,000 people each year. They've been helping people manage their debts for over 30 years.

Turn2Us

This free benefit calculator can let you know what benefits you may be entitled to.
The calculator will ask you a series of questions across no more than five steps to gather the information needed to work out your possible benefits entitlement.
Money Helper: Budget Planner

This free budget calculator will help you to know exactly where your money is being spent, and how much you’ve got coming in. Knowing how to manage a budget – keep track of where every pound is being spent – is a great first step to starting your savings, getting out of debt or preparing for retirement.

Entitledto want to make sure everyone who is entitled to benefits is empowered to claim them.
Their free benefits calculator to find out what you might be able to claim. Enter your details and you'll receive an estimate of your entitlement to benefits.

County Training are part of Herefordshire, Ludlow & North Shropshire College and deliver apprenticeships and work-based training across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Herefordshire.
They are one of the largest employer-facing training providers in Shropshire, operating from several bases across the county including the Gateway Centre in Shrewsbury and training bases in Oswestry, Walford and Ludlow.
County Training also deliver adult learning programmes for the unemployed and those seeking to progress into further education or employment.
