The Green Oak Foundation 

The Green Oak Foundation offer affordable counselling at a donation rate of £30 per session for individuals, £30 per session for children and young adults and £30 for couples. Concessionary rates may also be available.

They supporting Shropshire families by working with children and young adults. They provide counselling support in Shrewsbury, Church Stretton, Pontesbury and Ludlow.

VoiceAbility- Mental Health Advocacy Services 

Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)

Independent Mental Health Advocates (IMHAs) support people with issues relating to their mental health care and treatment. They also help people understand their rights under the Mental Health Act.

Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy 

Independent Mental Capacity Advocates (IMCAs) support people when they are assessed to lack capacity to make a best interest decision and they do not have family or friends appropriate to consult about the decision.

Drugs, Alcohol & Addiction
Shropshire Recovery Partnership covers the whole of Shropshire, with a base in Shrewsbury and satellite hubs in Oswestry, Bridgnorth and Ludlow. They support people with drug or alcohol problems or if you are concerned about someone who does.
Services include:
  • individual 1-2-1 work with a keyworker

  • group work sessions

  • access to detox and rehabilitation services

  • needle exchange services

  • clinical services

  • criminal justice interventions

  • Young Addiction; a dedicated young peoples service for 10-18 year olds.

NHS Low Income Scheme

The NHS Low Income Scheme will help cover the costs the costs of things like:

  • NHS prescription charges

  • NHS dental treatment charges

  • The cost of sight tests, glasses and contact lenses

  • The cost of travelling to receive NHS treatment

  • NHS wigs and fabric support

You can apply online if you do not have capital or savings over £6,000 and are:

  • a pensioner

  • earning a wage

  • receiving state benefits

  • living in a care home
